Shloka 3.53.10
सीताविलापः रावणनिन्दा च (Sita’s Lament and Condemnation of Ravana)
किं कर्तुं शक्यमेवं हि यज्जवेनैव धावसि।मुहूर्तमपि तिष्ठस्व न जीवन्प्रतियास्यसि।।3.53.10।।
kiṃ kartuṃ śakyam evaṃ hi yaj javenaiva dhāvasi |
muhūrtam api tiṣṭhasva na jīvan pratiyāsyasi || 3.53.10 ||
What can be done, when you flee with such speed? Stay even for a moment—you will not return alive.
Tarry a little, you will not go back with life. What can be done now since you are running away so swiftly?
Speaking truth to wrongdoing: Sītā declares the moral consequence of adharma—unrighteous violence leads to ruin.
While being carried away, Sītā directly warns Rāvaṇa that his act will end in his death.
Moral courage and satya: even powerless, Sītā speaks firmly and truthfully against injustice.
