सीताहरण-विलापः / The Lament at Jatāyu and the Abduction of Sītā
अभ्यवर्तत पुष्पाणां धारा वैश्रवणानुजम्।नक्षत्रमाला विमला मेरुं नगमिवोन्नतम्।।।।
abhyavartata puṣpāṇāṃ dhārā vaiśravaṇānujam |
nakṣatramālā vimalā meruṃ nagam ivonnatam ||
The stream of flowers moved back toward the younger brother of Vaiśravaṇa, as a bright, pure garland of stars seems to wheel toward lofty Mount Meru.
The shower of flowers that dropped went round towards Ravana, brother of Vaisravana, like the bright garland of stars move towards mount Meru.
The epic uses cosmic order to comment on moral order: actions in the human realm are mirrored by patterned motion in nature, implying that adharma stands out against an underlying dharmic harmony.
The flower-stream, disturbed by the flight, appears to circle back toward Rāvaṇa; the narrator compares this to stars arrayed around Mount Meru.
