सीतारावणसंवादः — Ravana Reveals Himself; Sita Affirms Rama’s Dharma

ब्राह्मणश्चातिथिश्चायमनुक्तो हि शपेत माम्।इति ध्यात्वा मुहूर्तं तु सीता वचनमब्रवीत्।।3.47.2।।

sa bhrātā lakṣmaṇo nāma dharmacārī dṛḍhavrataḥ ||3.47.19|| anvagacchad dhanuṣpāṇiḥ pravrajantaṃ mayā saha |

That brother, Lakṣmaṇa by name—righteous in conduct and firm in vow—followed Rāma into exile, bow in hand, together with me.

'He is a brahmin and also a guest. If unanswered he may curse me'. Thinking this Sita thought for a moment and said:

L
Lakshmana
R
Rama
S
Sita

Dharma as faithful accompaniment: Lakṣmaṇa embodies duty by choosing service and protection over comfort, aligning action with righteous commitment.

Sītā narrates that when Rāma went to the forest in exile, Lakṣmaṇa followed, armed and resolute, accompanying both Rāma and Sītā.

Lakṣmaṇa’s steadfastness (dṛḍha-vrata) and dharmic conduct (dharma-cārī) expressed through loyal service.
