Shloka 3.47.15
सीतारावणसंवादः — Ravana Reveals Himself; Sita Affirms Rama’s Dharma
त्वया हि खलु वस्तव्यं नव वर्षाणि पञ्च च।।3.47.15।।वने प्रव्रज काकुत्स्थ पितरं मोचयानृतान्।
tava pitrā samājñaptaṃ mamedam śṛṇu rāghava ||3.47.14|| bharatāya pradātavyam idaṃ rājyam akaṇṭakam |
“O Rāghava, hear this from me: your father has commanded that this kingdom, free of impediment, be given to Bharata.”
'O Rama of the Kakutstha dynasty, you should live in the forest for fourteen years and save your father from falsehood'.
Royal command and succession are framed as binding obligations; dharma is presented through the language of ‘order’ and ‘bestowal’ of kingship.
Kaikeyī announces to Rāma that Daśaratha’s command is to grant the kingdom to Bharata without opposition.
Rāma’s respect for paternal authority is the implied virtue that will govern his response.
