मारीचवधः — The Slaying of Maricha (Golden Deer Deception)
मारीचस्य तु मायैषा पूर्वोक्तं लक्ष्मणेन तु।तत्तथा ह्यभवच्चाद्य मारीचोऽयं मया हतः।।।।
mārīcasya tu māyaiṣā pūrvoktaṃ lakṣmaṇena tu | tattathā hyabhavaccādya mārīco'yaṃ mayā hataḥ ||
This is indeed Mārīca’s illusion, just as Lakṣmaṇa foretold earlier. It has happened exactly so, and now this Mārīca has been slain by me.
This is an illusion created by Maricha. It happened exactly the way Lakshmana had said earlier. Maricha is now killed.
Rama realizes that the golden deer was a magical illusion created by Maricha, confirming the warning Lakshmana had given him before the chase.
It validates the truth of Lakshmana's earlier words, demonstrating that wisdom and discernment (possessed by Lakshmana) often see through the illusions (Maya) that obscure reality.
