मारीचस्य रावणं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः (Maricha’s Counsel on Kingship and Ruin to Ravana)
दर्शनादेव रामस्य हतं मामवधारय।आत्मानं च हतं विद्धि हृत्वा सीतां सबान्धवम्।।।।
māṃ nihatya tu rāmaś ca na cirāt tvāṃ vadhiṣyati | anena kṛtakṛtyo 'smi mriyeyam ariṇā hataḥ ||
After killing me, Rāma will before long kill you as well. By this I shall have fulfilled my purpose—even if I die, slain by an enemy.
Yu most understand that if I die at the very sight of Rama, you along with your relatives will perish with the abduction of Sita.
Adharma inevitably meets dharmic retribution; Mārīca frames Rāma as the instrument through which righteousness restores balance.
Mārīca warns that his own death will be followed by Rāma’s slaying of Rāvaṇa, asserting certainty of the outcome.
Resolve and acceptance of consequences—speaking truth and embracing the cost of a grim duty.
