विराधवधः — The Slaying (Burial) of Viradha
स विद्धो बहुभिर्बाणैः खङ्गाभ्यां च परिक्षतः।निष्पिष्टो बहुधा भूमौ न ममार स राक्षसः।।।।
tatas tu tau kāñcana-citra-kārmukau nihatya rakṣaḥ parigṛhya maithilīm | vijahratuḥ stau muditau mahā-vane divi sthitau candra-divākarāv iva ||
Then, after slaying the rākṣasa, the two—bearing splendid bows adorned with gold—took Maithilī with them and wandered joyfully in the great forest, like the Moon and the Sun standing in the sky.
Although pierced by arrows, and wounded by the two swords, and pulverized on the ground, the demon did not die.
Dharma restores balance: once danger is removed, life returns to orderly, peaceful movement—protection enabling rightful living even in exile.
After disposing of Virādha, Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa continue through the forest with Sītā.
