मारीचाश्रमगमनम् (Ravana’s Journey to Maricha’s Hermitage)
एकपादेन धर्मात्मा भक्षयित्वा तदामिषम्।।3.35.32।।निषादविषयं हत्वा शाखया पतगोत्तमः।प्रहर्षमतुलं लेभे मोक्षयित्वा महामुनीन्।।3.35.33।।
sa tenaiva praharṣeṇa dviguṇīkṛtavikramaḥ | amṛtānayanārthaṃ vai cakāra matimān matim ||
Buoyed by that very joy, his prowess redoubled; the wise one resolved to bring back amṛta, the nectar of immortality.
Righteous Garuda, the best among the birds, stood on one foot and ate the flesh (of elephant and tortoise) and with the branch of the tree, destroyed the settlement of the demons. Over the destruction of the demons and deliverance of the great seers he felt immeasurable happiness.
Right action strengthens inner resolve; dharmic joy becomes a catalyst for disciplined purpose rather than indulgence.
After rescuing the sages and destroying the threat, Garuḍa decides to proceed toward obtaining amṛta.
Determination guided by intelligence (mati) and energized by righteous success.
