Shloka 3.32.11
अरण्यकाण्डे द्वात्रिंशः सर्गः — Śūrpaṇakhā’s Report to Rāvaṇa and the Panegyric of His Might
अहताङ्गं समस्तैश्च देवप्रहरणैस्तथा।अक्षोभ्याणां समुद्राणां क्षोभणं क्षिप्रकारिणम्।।।।
ahatāṅgaṃ samastaiś ca devapraharaṇais tathā | akṣobhyāṇāṃ samudrāṇāṃ kṣobhaṇaṃ kṣiprakāriṇam || 3.32.11 ||
His limbs remained unhurt even by all the divine weapons; he could churn even the unshakable oceans, and he was swift in action.
Ravana whose body was not hurt by the weapons in war with gods, who could perturb even the imperturbable seas, was quick in action.
The verse contrasts capability with righteousness: extraordinary capacities can be used to protect dharma or to violate it; the Ramayana later shows that adharma ultimately brings downfall.
A descriptive passage magnifies Rāvaṇa’s might, preparing the audience for the gravity of the coming crisis (Sītā’s abduction).
Decisiveness and rapid execution—traits that become dangerous when governed by desire rather than dharma.
