अकम्पनवृत्तान्तः — Akampana Reports Janasthana; Ravana Plans Sita’s Abduction
तं स्वयं पूजयित्वा तु आसनेनोदकेन च।अर्थोपहितया वाचा मारीचो वाक्यमब्रवीत्।।3.31.37।।
taṃ svayaṃ pūjayitvā tu āsanenodakena ca |
arthopahitayā vācā mārīco vākyam abravīt || 3.31.37 ||
After honoring him himself with a seat and water, Mārīca spoke words laden with purpose and meaning.
Maricha personally offered Ravana a seat. He offered him water and paid him obeisance. Making meaningful enquiries he said in appropriate words :
Dharma values purposeful, truthful speech (satya-yukta vāṇī) and proper conduct toward guests, even amid tension.
Mārīca completes formal reception rites and begins the conversation with Rāvaṇa.
Measured speech and protocol-aware conduct (courtesy and deliberation).
