Having spoken thus, Rāvaṇa departed in a chariot yoked with donkeys, radiant as the sun, casting light upon all directions as he went.

Having said so, Ravana got on a chariot yoked with donkeys. It had the colour of the Sun. It illuminated all directions. Ravana left.

The verse indirectly contrasts outward splendor with inward intention: brilliance and power do not certify dharma; ethical judgment rests on purpose and conduct.

Rāvaṇa sets out after speaking, beginning his approach toward Mārīca as part of the plan that will lead to Sītā’s abduction.

No virtue is highlighted; rather, the narrative emphasizes Rāvaṇa’s forceful initiative and the deceptive glamour that can accompany adharma.
