दूषणवधः (The Slaying of Dūṣaṇa and the Rout of Khara’s Host)
स दृमाणां शिलानां च वर्षं प्राणहरं महत्।।।।प्रतिजग्राह धर्मात्मा राघवस्तीक्ष्णसायकैः।
sa drumāṇāṃ śilānāṃ ca varṣaṃ prāṇaharaṃ mahat। pratijagrāha dharmātmā rāghavastīkṣṇasāyakaiḥ॥
The righteous-souled Rāghava (Rāma) met that mighty, life-destroying shower of trees and stones with his sharp arrows.
Righteous Rama, retaliated with his sharp arrows such as the rain of trees and stones, the mighty destroyers of life.
Rama is called 'Dharmatma' (righteous-souled) even in war because his combat is rooted in Dharma; he fights to protect the sages and establish order, not out of personal malice.
Rama skillfully used his sharp arrows to intercept and destroy the massive volley of uprooted trees and boulders hurled at him before they could inflict harm.
