Seizing that iron bludgeon which resembled a mighty serpent in the battle, Dushana, the night-wanderer of cruel deeds, rushed towards Rama.
With the spear that looked like a mighty serpent, Dusana, the cruel demon, advanced towards Rama.
Dushana is a fierce Rakshasa commander stationed in Janasthana, the brother of Khara and Shurpanakha, representing the aggressive forces of Adharma that oppose Rama.
The weapon, a Parigha (iron bludgeon), is compared to a 'great serpent' (Mahoraga), symbolizing its deadly, venomous, and terrifying nature, reflecting the ferocity of the demon Dushana.
