खरसेनासङ्ग्रामः — The Battle with Khara’s Host at the Hermitage
तत्सैन्यं निशितैर्बाणैरर्दितं मर्मभेदिभिः।रामेण न सुखं लेभे शुष्कं वनमिवाग्निना।।।।
tatsainyaṃ niśitair bāṇair arditaṃ marmabhedibhiḥ | rāmeṇa na sukhaṃ lebhe śuṣkaṃ vanam ivāgninā ||
That host, harried by Rāma’s sharp arrows that pierced the vital spots, found no respite—like a dry forest when fire has seized it.
Just like the dried up forest burnt by the fire, the army was totally destroyed by Rama's arrows that pierced into the vital parts of the soldiers.
The verse presents the moral logic of consequence: violence launched in adharma returns as unavoidable suffering; dharma-protection can be fierce yet purposeful.
Rāma’s accurate, vital-point-piercing arrows overwhelm the opposing army, leaving them no chance to recover.
Competence joined to duty—Rāma’s disciplined effectiveness in battle to protect the innocent and uphold order.
