खरसेनासङ्ग्रामः — The Battle with Khara’s Host at the Hermitage
स विद्धः क्षतजादिग्धः सर्वगात्रेषु राघवः।बभूव रामः सन्ध्याभ्रैर्दिवाकर इवावृतः।।।।
sa viddhaḥ kṣatajā-digdhaḥ sarva-gātreṣu rāghavaḥ |
babhūva rāmaḥ sandhyā-bhraiḥ divākara ivāvṛtaḥ ||
Pierced and smeared with blood over all his limbs, Rāghava looked like the sun veiled by evening clouds.
Wounded all over the body, bleeding through the wounds caused by weapons, Rama looked like the evening Sun covered with clouds.
Dharma acknowledges suffering without surrender: even when wounded, the righteous continue to uphold order and protection.
In the thick of battle, Rama is visibly wounded and bloodied, yet the narration frames him with luminous, cosmic imagery.
Resilient nobility—Rama’s radiance persists even when obscured by pain and injury.
