Shloka 3.15.10

पञ्चवटी-निवासः (Settlement at Pañcavaṭī and Construction of the Hermitage)

अयं देशस्समश्रीमान् पुष्पितैस्तरुभिर्वृतः।इहाऽश्रमपदं सौम्य यथावत्कर्तुमर्हसि।।।।

ayaṃ deśassamaśrīmān puṣpitaistarubhirvṛtaḥ | ihā'śramapadaṃ saumya yathāvatkartumarhasi ||

This land is level and fair, encircled by trees in blossom. O gentle one, it is fitting that you establish the hermitage here in the proper manner.

This place is level, surrounded by beautiful trees in full bloom. O handsome one, you may build the hermitage here.

Rama addresses his brother Lakshmana as 'Saumya' (gentle one), instructing him to build their hermitage.

Rama selected the site based on its evenness (sama), beauty (shriman), and the presence of blossoming trees (pushpitaih tarubhih).
