Hearing Lakṣmaṇa’s words, the ascetic—rich in the treasure of austerity—replied, “So be it,” and entered the fire-sanctuary to deliver the message.
The ascetic heard Lakshmana, and saying, 'let it be so', entered the fire-sanctuary to report.
Dharma here is faithful execution of duty: the disciple promptly carries out the requested communication with discipline and reverence.
After Lakṣmaṇa conveys the purpose of their visit, the ascetic messenger goes into the sacred-fire area to inform the sage (Agastya) of Rama’s arrival.
Obedience and reliability (śiṣya-dharma): acting swiftly and truthfully to relay a message.
