Shloka 3.12.1

अगस्त्याश्रमप्रवेशः तथा दिव्यायुधप्रदानम् (Entry into Agastya’s Hermitage and the Gift of Divine Weapons)

सप्रविश्याऽश्रमपदं लक्ष्मणो राघवानुजः।अगस्त्यशिष्यमासाद्य वाक्यमेतदुवाच ह।।।।

sa praviśyāśramapadaṃ lakṣmaṇo rāghavānujaḥ | agastyaśiṣyam āsādya vākyam etad uvāca ha ||

Lakṣmaṇa, the younger brother of Rāma, entered the hermitage-ground and, meeting a disciple of Agastya, spoke these words.

Lakshmana, the younger brother of Rama, entered the hermitage of Agastya and met one of his disciples and said to him these words :

Approaching holy persons and places with proper conduct: entry into an āśrama is framed as a respectful movement toward guidance and service.

The story transitions to Sarga 12: Lakshmana enters Agastya’s hermitage and initiates conversation with the sage’s disciple.

Service-oriented readiness: Lakshmana takes initiative in the proper protocol of meeting the āśrama community.
