पञ्चाप्सरो-सरः कथनम् तथा अगस्त्याश्रममार्गनिर्देशः (Panchapsara Lake Account and Directions to Agastya)
तथा संवसतस्तस्य मुनीनामाश्रमेषु वै।।।।रमतश्चानुकूल्येन ययुस्संवत्सरा दश।
tathā saṃvasatas tasya munīnām āśrameṣu vai |
ramataś cānukūlyena yayuḥ saṃvatsarā daśa ||
As he thus dwelt in the sages’ hermitages, delighting in that life in harmony, ten years passed for him in a favourable course.
Thus enjoying their stay in the hermitages, Rama, Sita and Lakshmana spent ten favourable years.
Santoṣa (contentment) aligned with duty: dharma is sustained when one accepts rightful hardship without resentment.
The narrator summarizes that a long period—ten years—elapsed while Rama lived among ascetics in the forest.
Dhṛti (steadfast composure): time passes without breaking Rama’s commitment to the exile’s vows.
