पञ्चाप्सरो-सरः कथनम् तथा अगस्त्याश्रममार्गनिर्देशः (Panchapsara Lake Account and Directions to Agastya)
ततः प्रव्यथितास्सर्वे देवास्साग्निपुरोगमाः।।।।अब्रुवन् वचनं सर्वे परस्परसमागताः।
tataḥ pravyathitāḥ sarve devāḥ sāgni-purogamāḥ |
abruvan vacanaṃ sarve paraspara-samāgatāḥ ||
Thereafter all the gods, led by Agni and greatly disturbed, assembled together and spoke among themselves.
Thereafter very much perturbed, all the gods led by Agni gathered together at one place and started deliberating among themselves.
Dharma is tied to cosmic balance: extraordinary tapas can affect the divine order, prompting deliberation to restore equilibrium without denying righteous effort.
The gods become alarmed by Māṇḍakarṇi’s austerity and gather to discuss what to do.
