Seeing Rāma together with the illustrious Vaidehī (Sītā), the great seers—endowed with divine insight—were pleased and approached to welcome him.
On seeing Rama with illustrious Sita, the great sages, richly endowed with divine knowledge, went forward to greet him.
Respect for righteousness and spiritual merit: the sages, recognizing Rāma’s worth and Sītā’s fame, respond with gladness and reverent welcome—an early movement toward proper hospitality (atithi-dharma).
Rāma and Sītā arrive among forest-dwelling sages in Daṇḍaka; the sages see them and move forward to receive them.
The sages’ discernment and reverence (recognizing dharmic excellence), and their graciousness in welcoming worthy guests.
