The Description of the Four Durgā Mantras
समर्प्यासनमेतेन तत्र संपूजयेच्छिवाम् । त्रिकोणमध्यषट्कोणपद्मभूपुरमध्यतः ॥ १४ ॥
samarpyāsanametena tatra saṃpūjayecchivām | trikoṇamadhyaṣaṭkoṇapadmabhūpuramadhyataḥ || 14 ||
Having thus offered the seat (āsana) by this mantra, one should then worship Śivā with full rites, placing her at the very center of the sacred diagram—within the bhūpura enclosure, in the lotus, in the hexagon, and in the central triangle.
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that divine worship is centered on inner order: the Goddess is invoked at the very heart of a consecrated space (bhūpura–lotus–hexagon–triangle), symbolizing progressively subtler levels of approach to the deity.
Bhakti here is expressed as attentive, reverent service—offering an āsana and then performing complete worship—showing devotion as disciplined presence and ritual care directed to the deity at the sacred center.
It highlights practical ritual-technology: the construction and use of a mandala/yantra (bhūpura, padma, ṣaṭkoṇa, trikoṇa) and correct placement of the deity for worship—knowledge aligned with kalpa-style procedural expertise.
