Using the seed-syllable (bīja) marked with the heart-sign and endowed with six long vowels, one should form the sixfold ancillary mantras (ṣaḍaṅga). Then one should perform nyāsa upon the nine locations—mouth, nose, eyes, ears, shoulders, and the anus.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches internal sanctification through nyāsa—placing mantra-power onto specific body points—so the practitioner’s body becomes a fit vessel for worship and focused contemplation.
By prescribing disciplined mantra-application before worship, it supports bhakti with correct upāsanā-method: devotion is stabilized through precise ritual and embodied remembrance of the deity via mantra.
It highlights technical ritual procedure (prayoga) related to mantra-śāstra—use of bīja, vowel-length (dīrgha) articulation, and ṣaḍaṅga-nyāsa as a structured method of recitation and placement.
