मंडूकवदने न्यस्येत्पीतसूत्रेण वेष्टितम् । पूजितं पीतपुष्पैस्तद्वाचं संस्तंभयेद्द्विषाम् ॥ ११२ ॥
maṃḍūkavadane nyasyetpītasūtreṇa veṣṭitam | pūjitaṃ pītapuṣpaistadvācaṃ saṃstaṃbhayeddviṣām || 112 ||
One should place it in the mouth of a frog and wrap it with a yellow thread. When worshipped with yellow flowers, it is said to immobilize the speech of enemies.
Narada (teaching a technical/ritual procedure within Vedanga-adjacent lore)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: bibhatsa
It presents a technical prayoga (ritual application) aimed at restraining hostile speech, illustrating the text’s Third Pada focus on practical, procedure-based lore rather than purely philosophical instruction.
Bhakti is not explicit here; the verse belongs to technical ritual instruction. In Narada Purana’s broader framework, such rites are typically subordinate to dharma and devotion, serving as protective measures rather than the highest aim.
It reflects applied ritual methodology—use of color correspondences (yellow thread/flowers), placement rules, and intended effect (stambhana)—a procedural style often associated with auxiliary/technical disciplines connected to Vedic practice.
