हरिभक्तिरतानां च पापबंधो न जायते । अतोऽतिदुर्लभा लोके हरिभक्तिर्दुरात्मनाम् ॥ १० ॥
haribhaktiratānāṃ ca pāpabaṃdho na jāyate | ato'tidurlabhā loke haribhaktirdurātmanām || 10 ||
For those absorbed in bhakti to Hari, the bondage of sin does not arise. Therefore, in this world, devotion to Hari is exceedingly rare among the wicked-minded.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that genuine devotion to Hari prevents the very formation of sinful bondage, making bhakti a direct purifier and a safeguard on the spiritual path.
Bhakti is presented as a transformative orientation of the heart: when one is truly engaged in devotion to Vishnu, sinful entanglement does not take root, but such devotion is rare among those with impure intentions.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyakarana, Jyotisha, or Shiksha) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is ethical-spiritual discipline—cultivating pure intention (bhakti) to avoid papa-bandha.
