The Greatness of Viṣṇu
Viṣṇor Māhātmya
ये यजन्ति स्पृहाशून्या हरिभक्तान् हरिं तथा । त एव भुवनं सर्वं पुनन्ति स्वाङिघ्रपांशुना ॥ ६४ ॥
ye yajanti spṛhāśūnyā haribhaktān hariṃ tathā | ta eva bhuvanaṃ sarvaṃ punanti svāṅighrapāṃśunā || 64 ||
Those who, free from craving, worship the devotees of Hari as well as Hari Himself—such people alone purify the entire world with the dust of their own feet.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the dialogue on Dharma and Bhakti)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It teaches that desireless devotion—expressed as reverence to both Vishnu and His devotees—has world-purifying power; the truly selfless bhakta becomes a sanctifier of all beings.
Bhakti is shown as twofold: worship of Hari and honoring Hari’s bhaktas; when done without personal craving (spṛhā-śūnyatā), it becomes spiritually potent and universally beneficial.
No specific Vedanga technique is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is dharmic conduct—sadhu-sanga and respectful service to devotees—as a lived discipline supporting bhakti.
