The Exposition of Spiritual Knowledge
Jñāna-pradarśanam

śīrṇasphuṭitasamdhānaṃ kuru devagṛhe sadā | mārgaśobhāṃ ca dīpaṃ ca viṣṇorāyatane kuru || 52 ||
Always repair what is worn out or cracked in the Lord’s temple; and in Viṣṇu’s shrine, arrange for the beautification of the approach-path and the lighting of lamps.
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that bhakti is expressed through practical seva—maintaining the deity’s temple, restoring damage, and offering light—actions that cultivate purity, reverence, and merit (puṇya).
Bhakti is shown as attentive care for Viṣṇu’s abode: repairing what is broken, beautifying the approach, and keeping lamps lit—devotion made tangible through service rather than mere speech.
It reflects practical ritual discipline (kalpa-style temple procedure): upkeep of sacred space and dīpa-dāna (lamp offering), emphasizing orderly worship and regular maintenance as part of dharma.
