With the Moon (Candra) as the reference, one should assess gains and the condition of the 3rd and 6th houses; and with Venus (Śukra), when it is placed in the 6th, 8th, or 12th, difficulties are indicated—especially in the 2nd, 6th, and 12th, and in inimical positions.

It shows that even within Moksha-Dharma teaching, Vedanga knowledge like Jyotisha can be used as an auxiliary tool to understand worldly conditions (gain, obstacles) while keeping the higher aim of liberation in view.
By mapping gain and difficulty through planetary indications, it implicitly encourages steadiness in practice: when obstacles are indicated, the devotee should intensify discipline and remembrance rather than become discouraged—using worldly knowledge without losing the devotional goal.
Vedanga Jyotisha: interpreting bhavas (houses) from key significators—Moon for gain-related judgment and Venus placements in the 6th/8th/12th as signals of affliction or hardship.
