Jyotiṣa-śāstra Saṅgraha: Threefold Division, Gaṇita Methods, Muhūrta, and Planetary Reckoning

The technical Vedic terms—such as khartu, dasnā, and vipad—are stated in connection with the rules of swift computation. They are derived by taking the intermediate factors of the pair of ojas (odd terms) and by employing the measures known as bhuja-jyā and tri-jyā (the sine and the tri-sine).

It shows that the Purana preserves not only devotion and dharma, but also precise Vedanga knowledge—especially Jyotisha—supporting correct timing and understanding of Vedic practice.
Indirectly: by grounding ritual timing and sacred observances in accurate Jyotisha computation, it supports disciplined worship—an aid to steady Vishnu-bhakti even when the verse itself is technical.
Vedanga Jyotisha and computational astronomy/ganita—specifically ‘swift computation’ methods and trigonometric measures like bhuja-jyā (sine) and tri-jyā used to derive intermediate factors.
