Matsya Purana — Yayāti in Amarāvatī-like Splendor: Devayānī Installed
स समागम्य शर्मिष्ठां यथाकाममवाप्य च अन्योन्यं चाभिसंपूज्य जग्मतुस्तौ यथागतम् //
sa samāgamya śarmiṣṭhāṃ yathākāmamavāpya ca anyonyaṃ cābhisaṃpūjya jagmatustau yathāgatam //
Having met with Śarmiṣṭhā and obtained his desire, and after mutually honoring one another, the two of them departed, returning by the way they had come.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it belongs to a dynastic narrative and describes a meeting, fulfillment of intent, mutual honoring, and departure.
It highlights expected social decorum: even after personal aims are achieved, one should maintain propriety through mutual respect (abhisaṃpūjya), reflecting dharmic conduct in relationships.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated here; the only ritual-adjacent element is the etiquette of honoring one another.
