Matsya Purana — Yadu Lineage
अशीतिश्च सहस्राणि वासुदेवसुतास्तथा लक्षमेकं तथा प्रोक्तं पुत्राणां च द्विजोत्तमाः //
aśītiśca sahasrāṇi vāsudevasutāstathā lakṣamekaṃ tathā proktaṃ putrāṇāṃ ca dvijottamāḥ //
It is said that there were eighty thousand sons of Vāsudeva; and likewise, O best among the twice-born, a further one lakh (one hundred thousand) sons is also declared.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it belongs to a genealogical enumeration, emphasizing the vastness of a lineage through large traditional numbers.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal of lineage-continuity (vaṃśa) and progeny as a marker of social order; kings and householders are portrayed as sustaining dharma through stable succession and family continuity.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is specified here; the verse functions as a numerical statement within a dynasty/descendants context.
