Matsya Purana — Yadu Lineage
ऊचुस् तमसुराः सर्वे क्रोधसंरक्तलोचनाः अयं गुरुर् हितो ऽस्माकं गच्छ त्वं नासि नो गुरुः //
ūcus tamasurāḥ sarve krodhasaṃraktalocanāḥ ayaṃ gurur hito 'smākaṃ gaccha tvaṃ nāsi no guruḥ //
All those Asuras, their eyes reddened with rage, said: “This one is the guru who is truly favorable to us. Go away—you are not our teacher.”
This verse does not describe pralaya; it highlights an ethical narrative moment—anger and factional loyalty leading the Asuras to reject a guru they no longer consider “favorable.”
It warns against choosing advisers only because they are “beneficial to us” (self-serving). A king or householder should prefer righteous counsel (dharma) over partisan advice driven by anger or gain.
No vastu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its significance is moral-psychological—how anger distorts judgment and undermines proper reverence for legitimate instruction.
