Matsya Purana — Yadu Lineage

Then, seeing them arrive, Bṛhaspati said: “Welcome, you who are to be honored by my sacrifice. I have come for your welfare as well.”
This verse does not address pralaya; it highlights dharmic conduct in a ritual context—welcoming and honoring those deemed worthy (yājya).
It underscores the duty of respectful reception (svāgata) and acting for others’ welfare (hitāya), central to a householder’s and ruler’s dharma—especially when hosting priests, guests, or dignitaries connected to rites.
Ritually, it emphasizes proper sacrificial protocol: identifying the yājya (worthy recipients) and welcoming them with auspicious speech, a key preliminary to orderly yajña proceedings.
