Matsya Purana — Yadu Lineage
Honor him through poetry, so that that learned twice-born man may be pleased. Go—you have been given to him; make every effort for my sake.
This verse does not address pralaya or cosmology; it focuses on ethical instruction—how to please a learned dvija through refined praise (kāvya) and dedicated effort.
It reflects a core Purāṇic duty: honoring and supporting learned Brahmins and teachers. For a king or householder, patronage of learning and respectful service (with sincere effort) is presented as a means to uphold dharma and secure goodwill.
No direct Vastu/temple-building rule is stated; the ritual-ethical takeaway is the importance of proper honor and ‘ārādhana’ (propitiatory respect) toward a qualified dvija, which underlies many ritual relationships in Purāṇic practice.
