Matsya Purana — Tripura’s Prosperity
खेचराः खेचरारावा भो भो दाक्षायणीसुताः निशामयध्वं स्वप्नो ऽयं मया दृष्टो भयावहः //
khecarāḥ khecarārāvā bho bho dākṣāyaṇīsutāḥ niśāmayadhvaṃ svapno 'yaṃ mayā dṛṣṭo bhayāvahaḥ //
“O sky-roamers—O you who cry out as you move through the heavens! O sons of Dākṣāyaṇī (Diti), listen: I have seen this dream, and it is terrifying.”
This verse does not describe pralaya; it uses a dream as an omen (nimitta) to foreshadow impending danger or conflict within a narrative episode.
Indirectly, it reflects the Purāṇic ethic of heeding warnings and consulting one’s community: a leader alerts his followers to a threatening sign, paralleling a ruler’s duty to remain vigilant and protect his people.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse is primarily about a portentous dream and a public summons to listen.
