FAQs

This verse is primarily a praise-hymn (stotra) invoking Lakṣmī and Viṣṇu’s epithets; it does not directly describe pralaya, but it aligns with the Purāṇic idea that auspicious divine power sustains order amid cosmic change.

By venerating Lakṣmī as the essence of saubhāgya (prosperity) and saukhya (well-being), the verse supports the householder and kingly ideal of seeking wealth through dharma—prosperity as a sacred trust, maintained by devotion, restraint, and righteous governance.

Ritually, it functions as a nāma-stuti suitable for auspicious beginnings (maṅgala), prosperity rites, and temple worship of Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇa; while not a Vāstu rule itself, such invocations commonly accompany consecration and daily pūjā in Puranic temple practice.
