Matsya Purana — The Pushkara Manifestation
मरुत्वती पुरा जज्ञ एतान्वै मरुतां गणान् अदितिः कश्यपाज्जज्ञ आदित्यान्द्वादशैव हि //
marutvatī purā jajña etānvai marutāṃ gaṇān aditiḥ kaśyapājjajña ādityāndvādaśaiva hi //
Formerly, Marutvatī gave birth to these hosts of the Maruts; and Aditi, by Kaśyapa, indeed gave birth to the twelve Ādityas.
It does not describe Pralaya directly; it preserves a genealogical record of divine lineages—how the Maruts and the twelve Ādityas are born—which is part of the Purana’s broader cosmological history.
Indirectly, it supports dharma through lineage-knowledge (vaṃśa-smṛti): kings and householders are encouraged in the Purāṇas to know sacred genealogies to ground ritual duties, calendrical observances, and reverence to devas like the Ādityas.
No Vāstu or temple-rule is stated; the ritual takeaway is devotional and liturgical—Ādityas and Maruts are deities invoked in Vedic-Puranic worship, so their enumeration supports correct identification in prayers and offerings.
