Matsya Purana — The Kalyāṇa-Saptamī
इमामनन्तफलदां यस्तु कल्याणसप्तमीम् शृणोति पठते चेह सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते //
imāmanantaphaladāṃ yastu kalyāṇasaptamīm śṛṇoti paṭhate ceha sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate //
Whoever, here in this world, listens to or recites this Kalyāṇa-Saptamī—bestowing endless fruits—becomes freed from all sins.
This verse does not discuss pralaya; it is a phalaśruti stating that hearing or reciting the Kalyāṇa-Saptamī account/observance grants purification from sins and yields endless merit.
It frames dharma as accessible through śravaṇa (listening) and pāṭha (recitation). For householders (and rulers), supporting and participating in such observances and public recitations is presented as a practical means of ethical purification and religious merit.
The ritual significance is the emphasis on Kalyāṇa-Saptamī and the efficacy of hearing/reciting its teaching; no Vāstu or temple-architecture rule is stated in this verse.
