Matsya Purana — The Kalyāṇa-Saptamī
प्रीयतामत्र भगवान् परमात्मा दिवाकरः अनेन विधिना सर्वं मासि मासि व्रतं चरेत् //
prīyatāmatra bhagavān paramātmā divākaraḥ anena vidhinā sarvaṃ māsi māsi vrataṃ caret //
May the Blessed Divākara, the Sun—Paramātman, the Supreme Self—be pleased here. Following this method, one should duly observe this vow month after month.
This verse does not address pralaya directly; it emphasizes ongoing ritual order (vrata-dharma) through regular, monthly observance to please Divākara.
It frames a clear duty of regular religious discipline: a householder (and by extension a king setting public example) should maintain consistent monthly vows according to the stated procedure.
The significance is ritual, not architectural: it instructs that the same prescribed vidhi (procedure) should be repeated every month as a standardized vrata for Sūrya.
