Matsya Purana — The Greatness and Procedure of the Aṅgāra
चतुष्कोणेषु तान्कृत्वा फलानि विविधानि च गन्धमाल्यादिकं सर्वं तथैव विनिवेदयेत् //
catuṣkoṇeṣu tānkṛtvā phalāni vividhāni ca gandhamālyādikaṃ sarvaṃ tathaiva vinivedayet //
Having placed those offerings at the four corners, one should likewise present various kinds of fruits, and also everything such as perfumes and garlands, as offerings.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it is a procedural Vastu/ritual instruction focused on correctly placing and offering items within a sacred layout.
It reflects the duty of a patron (king or householder) to perform worship and consecration correctly—making complete offerings (fruits, perfumes, garlands) in the prescribed directions to support auspiciousness and ritual efficacy.
It specifies directional placement—offerings at the four corners of the ritual/architectural mandala—followed by presenting standard upacāras like fruits, fragrances, and garlands, a common requirement in Vastu and temple rites.
