O best among the divine sages, I shall indeed bring you profound welfare; and I undertake that great, exceedingly fierce discipline which is also called the highest austerity.
This verse does not directly describe Pralaya; it emphasizes divine assurance of welfare and the undertaking of “supreme austerity” (parama tapaḥ), a theme often linked to cosmic order rather than a specific dissolution narrative here.
It highlights tapas as disciplined self-restraint and purposeful effort for the welfare (śam) of others—an ethical ideal that a king or householder mirrors through regulated conduct, vows, and duty performed for public good.
No explicit Vastu or temple-architecture rule appears in this verse; its ritual takeaway is the primacy of “parama tapaḥ”—the highest disciplined practice—as a sanctifying principle underlying many rites.
