Matsya Purana — Śrāddha Procedure: Types
आहरेदपसव्यं तु सर्वं दक्षिणतः शनैः एवमासाद्य तत्सर्वं भवनस्याग्रतो भुवि //
āharedapasavyaṃ tu sarvaṃ dakṣiṇataḥ śanaiḥ evamāsādya tatsarvaṃ bhavanasyāgrato bhuvi //
One should then bring everything in the reverse (counterclockwise) direction, slowly, keeping to the right (southern) side; and having thus brought all of it, one should place it on the ground in front of the house.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it gives a procedural Vastu/ritual instruction on how to move and place items around the house-site.
It reflects the householder’s duty to follow prescribed, orderly rites in establishing or sanctifying a dwelling—moving deliberately, respecting directions, and placing materials correctly before the house.
It specifies directional movement (apasavya/counterclockwise) and placement (in front of the house on the ground), indicating controlled ritual circulation and correct spatial arrangement in Vastu practice.
