Matsya Purana — Saubhagya-Śayana Vow: Lalitā/Gaurī–Śiva Worship
यथालाभं प्रशस्तानि करवीरं च सर्वदा एवं संवत्सरं यावद् उपोष्य विधिवन्नरः //
yathālābhaṃ praśastāni karavīraṃ ca sarvadā evaṃ saṃvatsaraṃ yāvad upoṣya vidhivannaraḥ //
Using whatever pure offerings are available, and especially offering karavīra-flowers at all times, a man who properly observes the fast (upoṣa) in this manner for a full year (saṃvatsara) acts according to the prescribed rule.
This verse does not discuss pralaya; it focuses on vrata-dharma—how to sustain a disciplined, year-long fast with proper offerings.
It frames dharma as practical and accessible: a householder (and likewise a king) may perform religious observances with “yathālābha” offerings—pure items available to them—while maintaining strict adherence to prescribed procedure (vidhivat).
Ritually, it highlights approved offerings and the repeated use of karavīra-flowers in worship during a long-term observance; no Vāstu or temple-construction rule is stated in this verse.
