Matsya Purana — Saubhagya-Śayana Vow: Lalitā/Gaurī–Śiva Worship
मल्लिकाशोककमलं कदम्बोत्पलमालतीः कुब्जकं करवीरं च बाणमम्लानकुङ्कुमम् //
mallikāśokakamalaṃ kadambotpalamālatīḥ kubjakaṃ karavīraṃ ca bāṇamamlānakuṅkumam //
Mallikā jasmine, aśoka blossoms, lotus (kamala), kadamba, water-lily (utpala), mālatī jasmine, kubjaka, karavīra (oleander), bāṇa-flowers, and ever-fresh kuṅkuma (saffron)—these are regarded as auspicious floral offerings.
This verse does not address pralaya; it is a practical enumeration of auspicious floral/fragrant substances used in worship and temple contexts.
It supports the householder/kingly duty of maintaining dharmic worship by specifying proper, auspicious offerings—flowers and fragrances—used in daily puja and public temple rituals.
Ritually, it identifies accepted flower and fragrance offerings (including saffron/kuṅkuma) used in consecrations and regular worship associated with temple practice within Vastuvidya-oriented instructions.
