Matsya Purana — Questions on Padmanabha’s Lotus-Creation in the Padma Mahakalpa; Prelude to N...
*ऋषय ऊचुः कथितं नरसिंहस्य माहात्म्यं विस्तरेण च पुनस्तस्यैव माहात्म्यम् अन्यद्विस्तरतो वद //
*ṛṣaya ūcuḥ kathitaṃ narasiṃhasya māhātmyaṃ vistareṇa ca punastasyaiva māhātmyam anyadvistarato vada //
The sages said: “You have described in detail the greatness of Narasiṃha. Now again, please tell us—at length—another account of that very same glory.”
This verse does not discuss pralaya directly; it frames a devotional inquiry where the sages request an additional, expanded narration of Narasiṃha’s sacred greatness.
Indirectly, it promotes śravaṇa (listening to sacred narratives) and repeated reflection on divine virtues—practices recommended for householders and rulers as supports for dharma and right conduct.
No explicit Vāstu or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse functions as a narrative transition into further Narasiṃha-mahātmya material that may later include worship-related details.
