Matsya Purana — Pitṛ Worlds
योगवन्तं सुरूपं च भर्तारं विजितेन्द्रियम् देहि देव प्रसन्नस्त्वं पतिं मे वदतां वरम् //
yogavantaṃ surūpaṃ ca bhartāraṃ vijitendriyam dehi deva prasannastvaṃ patiṃ me vadatāṃ varam //
O God, be gracious: grant me a husband endowed with yogic discipline, handsome in form, and master of his senses—indeed, the best among those who speak with wisdom.
This verse does not address pralaya or cosmology; it focuses on personal dharma—praying for a spouse marked by yoga, good form, and sense-mastery.
It sets a household ideal: the worthy husband is self-controlled (vijitendriya), disciplined (yogavant), and capable of wise speech—qualities that also mirror the virtues expected in leadership and righteous governance.
No Vastu or temple-architecture rule is stated here; the ritual element is the act of supplication (prayer for a boon) emphasizing inner qualifications rather than external construction.
