Matsya Purana — Phala-Saptamī Vow
व्रतान्ते विप्रमिथुनं पूजयेद्वस्त्रभूषणैः शर्कराकलशं दद्याद् धेमपद्मदलान्वितम् //
vratānte vipramithunaṃ pūjayedvastrabhūṣaṇaiḥ śarkarākalaśaṃ dadyād dhemapadmadalānvitam //
At the conclusion of the vow, one should honor a Brahmin couple with garments and ornaments, and should donate a pot filled with sugar, adorned with golden lotus-petals.
This verse does not address Pralaya; it focuses on vrata-conclusion rites—honoring Brahmins and donating a ritual pot as a merit-generating act.
It prescribes gṛhastha/royal dharma at the completion of a vow: respectful hospitality to a Brahmin couple and charitable donation (dāna), reinforcing social-religious obligations and the accumulation of puṇya.
Ritually, it specifies a kalaśa-dāna: gifting a pot filled with sugar and ornamented with golden lotus-petals—an auspicious, symbol-rich donation item used in Puranic vow-completion protocols.
