Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy: Bharata
इलिना तु यमस्यासीत् कन्या याजनयत्सुतान् ब्रह्मवादपराक्रान्ताञ् छुभदा त्व् इलिना ह्य् अभूत् //
ilinā tu yamasyāsīt kanyā yājanayatsutān brahmavādaparākrāntāñ chubhadā tv ilinā hy abhūt //
Through Ilinā, Yama had a daughter; she bore sons who were vigorous in sacred learning and spiritual discourse. Indeed, that daughter was Ilinā’s own—named Śubhadā.
This verse is genealogical and does not describe pralaya; it emphasizes continuity of lineage and the birth of descendants noted for brahmavāda (Vedic-spiritual discourse).
Indirectly, it values progeny characterized by brahmavāda—suggesting that rulers/householders should support Vedic learning, righteous upbringing, and the transmission of dharma through family lines.
No Vāstu or temple-rule detail appears in this verse; the only ritual-cultural emphasis is on brahmavāda, i.e., the prestige of Vedic teaching and sacred discourse within a lineage.
