Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy: Bharata
पृथुसेनस्य पौरस्तु पौरान्नीपो ऽथ जज्ञिवान् नीपस्यैकशतं त्व् आसीत् पुत्राणाम् अमितौजसाम् //
pṛthusenasya paurastu paurānnīpo 'tha jajñivān nīpasyaikaśataṃ tv āsīt putrāṇām amitaujasām //
From Pṛthusena, a son named Paura was born; and from Paura, Nīpa was then born. Nīpa, indeed, had a hundred sons, all of immeasurable prowess.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it is a genealogical statement tracing descent from Pṛthusena to Paura to Nīpa and noting Nīpa’s hundred powerful sons.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal of kingship by preserving lineage memory: royal succession and the continuity of heirs are presented as markers of stable rule and dynastic dharma.
No Vāstu, temple-architecture, or ritual procedure is mentioned; the focus is strictly on dynastic genealogy and the multiplication of royal progeny.
