Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
अधिसोमकृष्णश् चैतेषां प्रथमं वर्तते नृपः तस्यान्ववाये वक्ष्यामि भविष्ये कथितान्नृपान् //
adhisomakṛṣṇaś caiteṣāṃ prathamaṃ vartate nṛpaḥ tasyānvavāye vakṣyāmi bhaviṣye kathitānnṛpān //
Among these kings, the first ruler is Adhisoma-kṛṣṇa. In his lineage I shall describe the kings who are said to arise in the future.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it functions as a transition into a dynastic catalogue, announcing the narration of future kings within a particular royal lineage.
Indirectly, it frames kingship within lineage and historical continuity—an important Puranic theme that supports rajadharma by presenting rulers as part of an inherited tradition whose deeds will be remembered and evaluated.
No Vastu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse is purely genealogical, introducing a sequence of kings to be described.
